Edge Protection
Book a free surveyRoof edge protection is designed to prevent people falling from height to a lower level. Systems typically consist of guardrails and handrails and can be applied to rooftops, train station platforms, football stadiums, warehouses and chemical facilities. We also protect fragile roofs, roof lights and open leading edges on construction sites, specifying the right fixing method for the structure underneath. Modular components adapt as the programme changes and are installed by our own directly employed teams.
Key features
- Class A, B and C systems for different edge angles
- Suitable for rooftops, platforms, stadia, warehouses and process plants
- Post-in-socket, clamp-on and mesh barrier options
- Designed to BS EN 13374 and installed by in-house riggers
Roof edge protection that stops a fall starting
Roof edge protection is designed to prevent people falling from height to a lower level. The solution typically consists of guardrails and handrails and can be applied to rooftops, train station platforms, football stadiums, warehouses and chemical facilities.
On construction sites, fragile roofs, roof lights and open leading edges are among the highest-risk areas. We design and install barriers around those specific hazards, working out the right fixing method for the structure underneath. Systems are installed by our own directly employed teams, not subcontracted out.
Temporary systems through the programme
Modular Class A, B and C systems to BS EN 13374 adapt as the build changes. Post-in-socket, clamp-on and mesh barrier options cover concrete slabs, steelwork and roof edges. Components are reconfigured floor by floor or bay by bay, then removed cleanly on completion.
Temporary edge protection is often paired with safety netting under the frame and debris netting where the public or a live workplace sits below. Where an edge will remain after handover, we can convert the temporary arrangement into a permanent guardrail.
Locations we protect
- New-build and refurbishment roof edges
- Concrete slab and steel-frame leading edges
- Platforms, stadia and industrial process plants
- Fragile roof lights and openings
Where a roof needs protecting for an extended period we can arrange ongoing inspection. Read the steel-frame perimeter protection case study or talk to a specialist about your programme.
